Our Logo:

our logo

It is important that you familiarise yourself with our logo and its philosophy in order to understand what is expected of Pucará CMS students.

The centre, which is also the logo for The World Kido Federation, represents the Ying and Yang symbol and the constant merger of opposite forces, of good and bad and the internal battle in every person’s soul. Also it takes the shape of the index finger and the thumb as they are used in Hapkido in order to implement locks and throws. Their linear as opposed to curved design, are an indicator of our martial attitude, military applications and origins of our arts in the tribal and imperial warfare systems of the Ancient East.

Further the triangle around the main symbol, represents the three levels of combat (striking, locks and throws, and ground techniques), as well as the male and female V which is used to teach the foot work in Filipino Martial Arts.

They are crossed by a sword and a stick, both weapons used in the teaching of martial arts throughout history and from which the whole sequence of movements and postures derives.

Finally the pentagon represents the five elements of nature and the five pillars of Islam, since faith and practice must be combined in a perfect human being, and it is towards this journey of self perfection that we at Pucará CMS must aspire.

Pucará CMS was born in the city of Córdoba in Argentina, when its director, Omar Ali Grant begun his martial art career and it was finally launched in 2009 in the UK as a full time martial art club in various locations across North West London.

The title of "Combined Martial Systems" represents our aim to expand beyond our two core disciplines of Taekwondo and Hapkido to include elements from other styles and thus to develop individual fighting methods that suit the abilities, physique and requirements of each individual student.

We welcome you into our club and hope you will rise up through the ranks fairly quickly to the much desired black belt, but we must stress that a black belt in Pucará CMS is not an end in itself but the real beginning of your journey.
